I love being present at every wedding I photograph. I love the big destination celebrations that last multiple days and I love intimate 2 hour elopements. For me, it’s not really about having a preference, it’s more about having the privilege of witnessing whatever my clients envision and creating from it. Being a documentary photographer and working from this place is why the past 15 years have been so rewarding. Partnering and collaborating with couples who understand and trust this relationship is absolutely life-giving. For this specific elopement, it was such a blast using various film cameras and casually walking around the Lyndale Park Peace Garden in Minneapolis. We made a handful of portraits, shared private vows, gathered with family for a few portraits, then celebrated with a brief ceremony. Afterwards, everyone had meal together and enjoyed the rest of the evening. My coverage ended after the ceremony. Here’s a glimpse into some of the photographs from our time.
