Instagram all over the place

Instagram is a lot of things to a lot of people. For me, it's a tool that helps me interact with other amazing people. Some are fellow photographers and artists, while others are family or random acquaintances. It helps me produce more work while I'm living my daily life and communicates to others how I'm seeing the world. Using an iphone is a reminder that I don't need the nicest equipment available to make great photos, its more about whats going on in front and behind the camera. More Winter in Minneapolis...

The more I shoot with Fuji 400H, the more I fall in love with it. My head wants to use Kodak Portra, but my heart just reaches for the Fuji.  Here's why...just look at this gorgeous color. The magentas and cyans look amazing all soft and creamy.  Pastel like.  And this is more like how I see my world. Maybe thats why I like the digital files from my Nikon D700 so much as well, because straight out of the camera they look very similar to Fuji film, in my opinion.

A Valentines Day gift

I randomly threw out an invitation on facebook to snap a few frames for any couples in the Minneapolis area on V-day.  Well, one couple took me up on that offer. Tim and Ashley have graced this blog many times and I'm so thrilled they always jump at the opportunity to be photographed! These were taken in their empty apartment, next to a window, amidst clutter and moving boxes.  The next day they left this place and opened the door to their very first home. Love you guys.
