Flora & Bryan's Wedding / Family Farm / River Falls, WI

I love when couples infuse so much of who they are into a wedding. Flora loves pink, vintage touches and elegance. Bryan loves nature. He spent his whole childhood adventuring on this property and learning about various plants. So, they had a very elegant, nature and pink filled wedding on the family farm and totally pulled it off. They kept the guest list short and sweet and threw one great party. Though it was hot and humid, you can't even tell from the photos. Everyone really enjoyed the day and as the sun set, a cool breeze carried any thought of sweat and stickiness away.

Bryan and Flora contacted me through Rivets and Roses, a wedding studio in NE Minneapolis i'm currently a part of. I'm totally booking weddings on my own, too...but, I really desire to work alongside other amazing photographers and rub shoulders with people I normally wouldn't get a chance to. So, find me. Tell others. Spread the word. I'm currently booking for 2015, 2016 and 2017 and would love to fill up my calendar with whatever you can throw at me. Instant Film

Recently, I cleaned up my office and found a box of instant prints. There is just SO much stuff that doesn't make it on the blog or Facebook or Instagram. So, thought I'd spend a couple hours scanning (dust is my new enemy) some of these moments I've recently captured with polaroid cameras and instant film! 

Hard to believe these last two photos were taken over a year ago. Our youngest son, James, was born at the MN Birth Center and that's my wife (in labor) in the bathtub and holding James at home less than 15 hrs later. Still blows my mind. Thanks for the support everyone! 

Cosgrove Family / Lake Harriet / Minneapolis Family Photography

Ben was a friend from High School and College roommate. He's one of the smartest people I know and his wife is equally super intelligent. Seriously, these two are changing the world when it comes to Biochemistry Engineering or something. But, they are really down to earth and the friendliest out there. Oh, and they have three kids. The two boys are an absolute riot. Here are a couple favorite quotes from our time together...

"My dad has been on a magazine cover." -Ansel. 

"Mommy, can I just put my lips on the straw?" -Bjorn (immediately after being told he wasn't allowed to drink out of the iced tea he was helping carry).

The Cosgrove's added some time to a normal session and that made for a really relaxed, casual experience. We did tons of stuff together, but it just felt like we were hanging out and having fun. No pressure to rush anything. No keeping an eye on the time. Just hanging out...and running after the boys when they'd get too close to the bike path or lake edge.
