Kalscheuer Family / Dallas, TX

I want to write a novel for this blog post and these images, but its overwhelming just thinking of how much this family means to me and how my heart is so attached to these images. There's a unique door that opens when, as a photographer, you're invited to stay overnight with a family. Moments that would never happen during a 2 hour session are suddenly there and you become aware of how privileged you are to have this job. I'm always blown away when a family can truly live normally in front of a camera. Its a gift to a documentary photographer. Thank you Kalscheuer's. I don't deserve friends and clients like you.

Dante + Sarah's Minneapolis engagement session

We kept it close to home and embraced the bite of the last month of Winter while the fleeting warmth of the sun poured over. We sipped enough hot coffee to keep us comfortable. We stayed in and cozied up on a new sofa. We made some rad photos together. I can't wait to help document Dante + Sarah's wedding in October. Thanks for checking out this post and following along. 2016 has and will be a great year.

Dave + Holly / a Winter maternity session

5 years into this photography journey and my previous wedding clients are starting to add little ones to their families and I couldn't be more happy to help document it. All of this is still very fresh in my own life and has made photographing these milestones very natural. Part of the immense joy of being a portrait photographer is being invited into others lives. Over time, we leave a collection of images that helps tell a story for themselves and others. Its not being on the front line documenting some major crisis or humanitarian effort or natural disaster. In fact, its a luxury not everyone can afford and yet, for those that make it a priority...much of their life is recorded in a very intentional and creative way. This support, vulnerability, and trust is much of what gets me excited to wake up and work. Its inspiring. I'm grateful. It's a partnership.

Thank you.

I have some availability this Spring before weddings take up most of my life...let's set up a portrait or family session and start or keep adding to the collection of photos you have. You won't regret it.
